Our bespoke Digital Prep Suite is designed to take the stress out of the EWA process. By moving the heavy lifting online, we offer:
24/7 Access: Manage your onboarding and portfolio evidence from any device, anywhere.
Structured Evidence Gathering: Our digital portal guides you through exactly what photos and documents you need to upload to meet BPEC requirements.
Compliance & Impartiality: Our system automatically maintains the strict separation between "Training Support" and "Final Assessment" records required by BPEC auditors.
Remote Feedback: Our team reviews your digital portfolio in real-time, providing guidance through the portal so you are 100% ready for your assessment day.

The EWA is not a training course; it is a formal assessment of the skills you have gained over your career. This guide will help you prepare your digital portfolio and ensure you are ready for your assessment day at LFS.
Before accessing the LFS Digital Prep Suite, you must confirm you meet the industry-standard prerequisites:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of provable industry experience.
H&S Qualification: A valid ECS Operative Card.
Authorised Person: You must nominate a supervisor or senior colleague (ideally a FESS Gold Card holder) to verify that the work in your portfolio is yours.
Using the LFS Digital Prep Suite, you will complete the BPEC FESS-001a Evidence Checklist. This is a compulsory part of your preparation.
You must review the core occupational areas and rank your own knowledge and experience.
Target: You should be able to confidently tick "Adequate" for every statement before booking your assessment.
Areas Covered: Risk assessments, safe isolation, interpretation of drawings, installation, and fault diagnosis.
You will upload "Evidence of Competence" to the portal. This can include site photos, RAMS, commissioning sheets, and client commendations.
Installation: You need evidence for specific systems, such as wireless systems, surveillance with recording, or networked access control.
Testing & Commissioning: Evidence of system programming (via PC), battery standby calculations, and handover documentation.
Service & Maintenance: Documented preventative and corrective maintenance visits.
LFS Pro-Tip: Photos should ideally show you "on the tools" at the job site to validate that the work is your own.
Once your digital portfolio is verified by our team, you will attend the LFS centre for your formal assessment.
Upon successful completion of all elements, LFS will submit your results to BPEC for certification. Once you hold your BPEC FESS EWA Certificate, you are eligible to apply for your JIB/ECS Gold Card in your chosen pathway.
